September A Busy Month

The month of September was a very busy month for two main reasons: The start of the new school year and the launching of the Ruth’s Group.

The orphans that we serve have already begun the school year by the grace of God. God has provided for the school supplies like books, notes books, pen, pencils and other. So we offer these things to the orphans of ‘’Orphelinat Universel des Oeuvres Humanitaires ‘’ on the road of Mfou (a neighborhood town of Yaoundé), to the orphans caring by a woman named Elisabeth at Nsam (a quarter of Yaoundé) and we give some funds to a widow so that she can learn a new trade so for example she can provide for the school needs of her children. They received joyfully these gifts thanking God for the provision. And we encourage the orphans to be diligent at school and to strive for good grades this academic year. So, we are asking you to pray with us that God gives them the diligence to work hard at school so that we can positively impact their lives. We also encourage them to be the ambassadors of Christ in their school showing to their classmates the love of Jesus-Christ that they have already received. Let’s Pray for the fulfillment of this purpose. Pray also for the women who take care of them and for us continuing to teach them the Word of God. Certainly, they will need food and clothes during the whole academic year, pray with us for God’s provision.

In September, we have seen how God has used us to launch the Ruth Group (A Group for widow and neglected women) at Nsam (One of the poorest areas of Yaoundé).  Those women that came, we explained to them our organization and the project that we have to them, presenting them the activities of the group (Spiritual and moral equipment, Material and physical, Mutual encouragement, Mutual sustainment and promotion and training on the creation of activities generating income). After the event, some registered themselves to join these activities. The first meeting of this group is planned for the October 14th. Let’s thank God for his assistance for the preparation of this program; pray for the success of this group; ask God to equip spiritually the volunteers who will teach the women and for spiritual need of these women filled; ask material and financial provision of God for this project.

We acknowledge your interest for our organization as you pray, support and are working with us. Let’s continue to do so, and hoping to see other marvelous deeds of God through us for the forthcoming months.

God have already blessed us.

1st Annual HSA Banquet

Greetings

On June 3rd Hope Social Action was happy to host it’s 1st annual fundraising banquet.  This was an exciting day to allow people that are interested to hear about the mission and objectives of Hope Social Action.  Our program consisted of worship, presentation on the current status of Hope Social Action, followed by the plans that Hope Social Action has to grow and develop.  After Gildas presented, we had a time for many of the people that we work with to share how Hope Social Action has impacted their lives.  People from the orphanage, CJARC, and the elder Elizabeth all shared with those that were in attendance.

After the meal we sought for those that were interested to indicate if they would partner to pray, volunteer, or donate to help Hope Social Action meet their goals.  With the funds that were raised at the fundraising banquet Hope Social Action will evaluate the most impactful projects such as allowing the widows to learn a new trade that can allow them to earn more money for their children.  Or use the funds to help the orphans and the widow’s children to pay for school fees and school supplies. We praise God for the success that he provided from this first ever HSA fundraising banquet.  It is God that will continue to meet the needs of those that we strive to help.

Now we look forward, hoping to continue to harvest the marvelous work that God has during the next month. The major activity of this summer will be the launching of ''Group Ruth'' targeting the widows of Nsam. The activities of this group will be the Bible studies and training about how to raise and manage a generating income project to improve their well being. Pray with us for the success of this group as the widows have been away from Yaounde over the past few visits.

A New Partnership

The month of March was marked by two major activities. First, we restarted the Bible studies with the orphans of ''ORPHELINAT UNIVERSEL DES OEUVRES HUMANITAIRES'' on the first Saturday in March. We offered Bibles to each orphan and we taught them about the importance of reading and studying the Bible. Each orphan took a commitment to read their Bible every day. So we continued during March to follow them in this process of discipleship every Saturday.
We have begun a similar process with the widows and orphans at Nsam. One of these orphans, Carol has put a lot of effort to read her Bible and now she is able to read better. We know that as they read their Bibles, God will reveal Himself to them and surely transform their lives in the image of His Son Jesus-Christ.

Second, on Saturday March 24th, a partnership between our organization and another organization called CJARC (CLUB FOR BLIND YOUTH REHABILITATED OF CAMEROON) was launched with the organization of a friendship day with the opportunity to start Bibles studies with them. This day was marvelous because we shared the love of God to four blind youths (Arnaud, André, Ruth, and Judith) through words (the preaching of the Gospel) and actions (the gift of food and soap for the housekeeping of the club). And before the end of the day, they received Jesus-Christ as their Lord and Savior for the forgiveness of their sins and to have eternal life. Pray with us for their discipleship.

Now we look forward, hoping to see the marvelous work of God during the forthcoming month of April. The major activity of this month will be the launching of ''Group Ruth'' targeting the widows of Nsam. The activities of this group will be the Bibles studies and training about how to raise and manage a generating income project to improve their well being. Pray with us for the success of this group.

Plans for 2012

Greetings

I know that it has been some time since we last posted updates to the blog.  All the members of Hope Social Action have been very busy preparing plans for 2012.  Look at the links, 2012 Projects and Current Needs on this blog to see updates and learn the plans that Hope Social Action hopes to accomplish in 2012.

Before commencing our work for 2012, we spent time in prayer for the big plans that God has laid on the hearts of us here at Hope Social Action.  Our prayer for the widows and their children is that God would help grow them in their faith and trust God as their 'husband", provider, and give wisdom in generating income.  For the elderly (Papa Michael) that he would stay encouraged through his illness and would be a model of peace and joy to his family members.  For the orphans that those that have accepted Christ to grow in their walk with Christ and to share their faith with others and for the others that God would soften their hearts and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  We know that with God that all things are possible and that through partners like yourself, together we are able to provide prayer and financial support to help make the plans for 2012 come to fruition.  We encourage you to join with us in prayer for upcoming projects and events that Hope Social Action is planning.

Starting February 19th we restarted our work with a visit to NSAM to encourage and visit the widows and elderly.  Look forward for an update in the coming week for more information about our February visit.

Blessings

A Great End To This Year

December has been busy, but a very fruitful end to 2011.

On December 9th, we watched with the orphans of Orphelinat Universel des Oeuvres Humanitaires a film named: "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe". It was very appreciated by the children. But before we watched, we shared the Gospel with the little ones in the orphanage. We taught about "Sin and how they can be delivered from his condemnation". After this teaching, many of the children desired to receive the forgiveness of God from their sins and the Eternal Life. Please read below some testimonies from them after receiving Jesus Christ as Their Lord and Savior:
Roby (8 years old): "I received the Eternal Life and I have delivered me from my sins because God died on the cross for me."
Joseph (12 years old): "I prayed God to purify and forgive me from my sins…"
Sarah (12 years old): "Jesus is a Great person for me because He delivered me from my sins and gave me the Eternal Life."
Ivan (11 years old): "I prayed God to purify me from my sins and give me the Eternal Life and now I became a child of God."
Daniel (11 years old): "I asked God to forgive me from my sins and give me the Eternal Life."
Valdo (7 years old): "Jesus loves me so much, He created me. He delivered me from my sins and gave me the Eternal Life.
Keep praying for them for their spiritual growth. It remains now only three children among them who are not yet saved. Continue to pray that God will work in their lives, and they understand their need to be saved.

On December 11th, we visited again Carolle at Nsam to edify her on the necessity of reading the Bible after her accepting Christ in her life. During this teaching, one of her friend’s named ‘’Gaby’’ was interested to know how to have Eternal life. We stopped this teaching and we shared the Gospel to her and she received Jesus Christ as Her Lord and Savior. After this, we continued our teaching and we promised for the next visit to offer to them Bibles. And we are encouraged about what God done for one of the widows that we visited also there. According to her testimony, she said: ‘’I can conquer the trials of the life because I am trusting God‘’. And she had already begun a trade to provide for the needs of her children. So, pray that God will bless that trade and provide for them.  Keep praying for ‘’Papa Michel’’ (one of the elderly blind man that we visit in Nsam) because he receiving treatment for the prostate disease that he has, so that God can heal him. Pray also for his daily needs.

Finally on December 17, we had picnic with the orphans of Orphelinat Universel des Oeuvres Humanitaires at The National Parc of The Mefou 42 km out of Yaoundé. They enjoyed the excursion because they saw the glory and the greatness of God through the chimpanzees, gorillas and many species of primates that they have never seen.  This trip was also to give them a gift for Christmas that we hope that they will know that they are loved and special.

Praise the Lord for this great end and we hope other great things with Him for 2012.
We wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2012. God bless you richly for this New Year as you can see the opportunities to support us in this great task to share Gospel and physical needs to the peoples that we serve.

Blessings this Holiday Season

Another Month of Harvest

The month of November was another month of harvest.  During our visit to the widows at Nsam on November 13, we had opportunity to share the Gospel with the children of one of these widows (The widow, Elizabeth, who received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior last month).  After sharing the Gospel, one girl among these Children called “Carolle’’ (13 years old) asked us: How to receive Eternal life?  To answer her question, we explained to acknowledge her sin and ask forgiveness of her sins, and beleive that Jesus is the Son of God and only through him we can have salvation.  Then we prayed with her to receive Jesus Christ in her life as her Lord and Savior.

After this prayer, we asked her if she was saved and she answered ‘’yes’’.  Then, we asked another question: Why do you say that you are saved? She answered joyfully to us that Jesus died on the Cross for her sins.  Please pray for her spiritual growth.
